The Kwara Concession on the northern fringes of the Delta is one of the most game rich of all Botswana’s reserves: bordering the Linyanti Wetlands to the north and the Moremi Game Reserve to the south, it is hemmed in by some of the most renowned wildlife hotspots in Africa. The southern area of the concession is mainly wetlands, with swamps and channels ideal for mokoros and motorboats. Further north, the land becomes drier and more accessible for vehicles, where Kwando Safaris operate their game drives with a guide and tracker, increasing the chance of animal sightings and freeing up the guide to provide further detail.
Splash Camp is a brand new camp in this concession offering a relaxed, friendly and authentic safari experience. Accommodation is in ten ensuite tented rooms with inside and outside showers and great views across an open pan. Two of these are family rooms and for small groups there is the option for up to five rooms to run as a completely separate annex known as Splash Enclave.
The camp’s relaxing public areas have an open sided lounge/bar and dining area, plus a small plunge pool also overlooking the pan, which attracts game all year round. Game drives are operated using a guide and tracker and you have the opportunity to drive off road in search of sightings and drive at night with spotlights. Walking safaris, boating and mokoro trips (all seasonal) are also on offer. As with all the Kwando camps, this is a comfortable but unfussy camp, prioritising wildlife over luxury.
