Most of the Linyanti camps (all that are able to includeboating activities) now offer fishing excursions when the water levels close to camp are sufficiently high. This is not a classic fishing destination comparable to the Okavango Panhandle, but there is still much enjoyment in getting out on the river to see what’s biting. Tigerfish are not generally on the agenda, unless you’re fishing on the Kwando River, but tilapia, bream and barbel are among the specimens that you could reel in. A catch and release policy will be enforced, so you needn’t worry about impacting on the wildlife of this pristine wilderness. Beginners are definitely welcome to try their hand and equipment will be provided, while there will also be time to just rock back with a drink and enjoy the atmosphere of being out on the water.
